THEATRE TOTZ (3-5 YEARS)

Our Theatre Totz class is designed for students aged 3-5yrs. Students express their singing voice and dance ability through a range of activities specifically designed for this age group. Classes aim to develop musical and stage awareness in an imaginative, fun and encouraging way. Students from our Totz class are also offered the end of year performance opportunity in our full scale musical production, and for many of our Totz, this performance marks their very first step onto the stage.

STAGE STARZ (6-8 YEARS)

A springboard class into training students in the three disciplines of musical theatre, drama, dance and singing; this class is both educational and jam packed with fun. We aim to develop the skills necessary to be a musical theatre performer and also skills which will develop our students socially and emotionally.

The material covered in this class is age appropriate, catering to the interests and the abilities of the student. This class offers students the opportunity to perform in our annual musical theatre production, giving each student the chance to show case what they have learned throughout the year.

PERFORMERZ (13-18 YEARS)

Our Performerz class is the most senior and experienced musical theatre ensemble at the Academy.

Students are trained further in the three disciplines of musical theatre, drama, dance and singing. They are encouraged to find both their strengths and weaknesses when it comes to performaces. To utilise their strengths to their best and to work more on how to develop their weaknesses to an advantage on the stage. Many of our students in this class have gone on to study performing arts at third level.

We aim to develop the skills necessary to be a musical theatre performer and also skills which will develop our students socially and emotionally. The material covered in this class is age appropriate, catering to the interests and the abilities of the student. This class offers students the opportunity to perform in our annual musical theatre production, giving each student the chance to show case what they have learned throughout the year.

BROADWAY BRATZ (9-12 YEARS)

Our most popular class across the Academy. Students attending this class engage further in the three disciplines of musical theatre, drama, dance and singing; this class is both fun yet challenging for students to develop their skills with their friends and peers. We aim to develop the skills necessary to be a musical theatre performer and also skills which will develop our students socially and emotionally.

The material covered in this class is age appropriate, catering to the interests and the abilities of the student. This class also offers students the opportunity to perform in our annual musical theatre production, giving each student the chance to show case what they have learned throughout the year.

ACRO DANCE (6-18 YEARS)

BRAND NEW to Bellvue this year, Acro-Dance is a unique fusion of Dance and Acrobatics. In this class, students aged 6-12yrs will focus on key elements of Acro-Dance such as balance and flexibility while also incorporating exciting choreography and self expression. Students can expect to learn acrobatic tricks and also improve their dance technique. Acro-Dance incorporates modern, jazz, contemporary and ballet dance styles and seamlessly marries them with acrobatic techniques to produce the ultimate dance experience.

All Acro-Dance classes will be taught by our trained Acro Teacher Kirsty Keating, who is affiliated with Acrobatic Arts International.

DANCE (5-13 YEARS)

Enjoy a dance class for fun but also while learning new skills in musical Theatre and other contemporary songs! There is no pressure for competitions, just enjoy dance, for dance! This dance class incorporates games and skill sessions to enhance your technique, however beginner or advanced you may be.

VOCAL TUITION

Vocal tuition is offered to students aged from 5-105yrs, with all levels and abilities are catered for. Students work on a range of repertoire and vocal technique practices including pitch, posture, breathing, diction, support, and placement. Students are offered the option to complete graded singing examinations annually with a recognized examining body but can also choose to learn for fun.

SPEECH AND DRAMA

Our drama only class is suited to those performers who are more interested in a piece of text than in a jazz square! A fun filled class which offers training in acting. This class focuses on developing the actor in areas of speech, diction, accents, movement, physicality, improvisation and sight reading, to name but a few.

Students of the speech and drama class will also be offered the opportunity to perform in their own end of year production, giving each actor the chance to show case what they have learned throughout the year.

This class would serve as a good support to students who are also taking musical theatre at the academy.

Students are also given the opportunity to be prepared for Feis Maitiu and speech and drama exams which are optional.
